Karen Henry Clark decided to become an author when she was four years old, quickly discovering the living room wall was not the best place for publishing. She worked as a clerk, teacher, college administrator, and copywriter but never forgot her childhood ambition. Her first picture book, SWEET MOON BABY, addressed adopting her daughter from China. Next, LIBRARY GIRL, told the story of Nancy Pearl, her co-worker in a Tulsa bookstore. On her website under "Margin Notes," Karen, who lives in Milan, OH, blogs about the magic in life's seemingly ordinary moments.

LIBRARY GIRL: How Nancy Pearl Became America's Most Celebrated Librarian

Nancy Pearl, an internationally acclaimed librarian, was bullied throughout her Detroit childhood for loving books more than recess. But encouragement from real and imaginary helpers inspired her to believe in the magic of reading. She is a popular speaker, author, literary critic, television host of Seattle Channel's BOOK LUST, and the model for the Archee McPhee Librarian Action Figures.
