Interest in Participating in Panels or Story Time

I am excited to present about self-publishing tips, tricks, and resources between final edits and holding the paperback in your hand. I have given a talk on this topic before.

I would also be thrilled to discuss editing steps and how to reduce your cost with effective self-editing techniques.

I'd be interested in discussing the way repeated reference to a single item/type of item throughout a novel can lead to a more satisfying ending by resolving the POV character's feelings toward that item (or micro subplots generally).

The Mountain High Goodbye

Summary

When Halsley Iberra aged out of foster care in Estes Park, its infamous rent rates meant moving … again. If only moving didn’t mean leaving Ransom Channing, the gorgeous restaurateur and single father she’d been secretly crushing on while she helped him with food prep in his pub’s kitchen.

She liked him—wanted every sweet moment he had to offer, every hug, every smile, every infectious laugh. When he rearranged his life to fit her into it, she thought he just might want to keep her too … until he made it clear he didn’t.

Three years later, he’s back in her life, telling her they’re still married, and Halsley isn’t interested in his games. She’s no longer the girl who jumped at his “yes” and walked away at his “no”. When he offers an expedited divorce in exchange for her summer, she agrees, but she’ll do it on her own terms.

Book 2:

When You Were Gone

Summary

Teenage Julia Loren was supposed to go to art school, marry Braxton Anders, and live happily ever after. That was the plan until the month she discovered she was pregnant and he left her.

Single-mom Julia doesn’t believe in love anymore. She doesn’t have time to figure out how to rebuild the once-glittering future that unraveled in a blink. She works her ass off, carries her hurts in silence, and gives her daughter the best life she can. What she wants doesn’t matter.

When a second chance at love appears, Julia is forced to face her past and to discover whether opening her heart again might save her tiny family or wreck it once and for all.

Summary

Elise Cartier has avoided Chicago for her entire adult life. The city holds her domineering older brother, a stepmother whose personality could single-handedly hold back global warming, and a baby sister she’s afraid will steal her heart if Elise gives her half a chance.
But her father loved the windy city. He built his empire there, and he made her promise to use her skills to build a better tomorrow for Chicago. One those skills is fundraising to stop hunger.

When her team floats Chicago as the best venue for this year’s annual fundraising gala, Elise can’t say no to fulfilling the mission of her charity and her promise to her father in one swing.

And if the gala location increases her odds of again seeing Chicago’s rising darling? Who could fault her for such a trivial additional motive?
The gala goes off without a hitch, but afterward, mementoes of a long-ago trauma begin cropping up around her. What starts as a weekend-long work trip quickly turns into a game of cat-and-mouse.

Allergies and Dietary Restrictions

I am allergic to dairy. My favorite snack is an Otis Spunkmeyer blueberry muffin like Sam's Club sells, but I'm good with Aldi pretzel sticks if that's easier. No snacks I can eat won't be a problem for me, either. I usually bring my own. What I'd most love is water or coffee available because talking to people can really dry out the yapper.

While you certainly can use my photo above, I am updating my photos soon. If you would like a more accurate headshot and email me for one, I will send it promptly.
